ABOUT | FAQ

Wild Card Books & Arts* sells gently used books: useful, intriguing, inspiring and delightfully weird used books. We think inspiration shouldn’t be expensive, so our objective is to offer thousands of previously loved used books, including vintage and antiquarian volumes, for generally less than $10.

We intend to stock anything we think the world needs more of, and titles that we know from personal experience to be damn amazing. Our books are gently used, hand-cleaned, and even mended, if necessary. Perfect is boring, and we love finding a little physical evidence that a book has been loved. So, accordingly, our books are priced keeping in mind current condition and availabity of the title through various online retailers of used books.

We’re picky about what we stock, and we’re interested in a wide (yet focused) range of progressive topics: art, design, music, holistic health, spirituality, natural living, architecture, creativity + creative practices, business + entrepreneurship, history, feminism, social justice, urban design, travel, education, divinatory practices/tarot, interesting people, plants, poetry, politics, wildlife…and so on.

*The “arts” component of WC B&A is manifesting itself in the form of an under-construction micro-gallery space. (More info on that, TBA!)

Q: Who is “we”?
A: “We” is Victoria Farr (FB | IG) and Alan Jelercic (FB | IG).

AND our innumerable friends and family who pitch in everyday to support and encourage us. Thank you for having our backs, even though we are often weirdos.

Q: Do you buy / trade books?
A: Not yet!
We will, eventually. Right now, we’re focused on organizing our space, building some custom fixtures, and convincing our four-year-old to attend preschool wearing pants. (Harder than it sounds.) We want to do it right, and the inventory tracking software we’d like to use is a little bit of a financial investment. But it’s definitely a priority for us, we’re working towards it. Thanks for your patience!
